Job Description Summary

UofL Health – Peace Hospital, is a private, non-profit behavioral health hospital. One of the largest behavioral health facilities in the nation, Peace Hospital is known for providing care for children, adolescents, and adults. It’s Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of youth inpatient behavioral health services in the country. The hospital was the nation’s first behavioral health care center to open a retail pharmacist operated, long-acting injection clinic. The clinic was established to help people adhere to prescribed medications for behavioral health conditions, such as substance use and psychotic disorders.

Job Description

This role, as the designated nurse executive, has the authority to develop and implement patient care programs, policies and procedures that dictate how patients' clinical and nursing care needs are assessed and met. Responsible for implementing and monitoring an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care delivered to patients. Responsible for providing leadership for improving patient care by ensuring that standards for patient care are established and maintained so that consistent care is provided to all patients. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all functions related to psychiatric inpatient and PHP services of specialty units, including staff performance, systems improvement, and teaching. It is responsible for new program design, implementation, and evaluation. May provide services for various patient populations including children, adolescents, adults and geriatric. As a member of Administrative Council, this role participates with other members in strategic planning and executive decision making. Participates in the setting and implementation of the organization’s goals, priorities/strategies and works with other disciplines and groups to provide high quality of care.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kentucky Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date
  • BLS required from American Heart Association
  • Master’s or Post Graduate Degree
  • Ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training and successful completion during new hire orientation.
  • At least five years of experience in directing programs and managers in a hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing
